Festival Season Starts With Kingsday Festival In The Netherlands

March 4, 2014

We are just one month away from one of the biggest festival events in Europe. While everyone knows Tomorrowland and other big-time European festivals, little people do know about the Kingsday (formerly Queensday) in the Netherlands.

This year is the first year the Dutch will celebrate Kingsday, to honor the coronation of King Willem-Alexander. Previously, this holiday was attributed to Queen Beatrix, who stepped down last year. For many years, Kingsday is by far the biggest holiday in the Netherlands.

The Netherlands is famous for its contribution to the worldwide EDM scene. From Tiesto, through Armin Van Buuren, Afrojack and up to Nicky Romero, the land of the Dutch is anything an EDM fan can wish for. That’s why Kingsday, as the celebration of being Dutch, offers some of the biggest EDM-themed celebration in the world.

The biggest event on Kingsday is The Kingsday Festival, which traditionally takes place at the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam. This year’s line-up is super stacked with some of the biggest names in the world, with Nicky Romero, DJ Fresh, Yellow Claw, Joris Voorn, DJ Snake, The Partysquad and many others.

If you are traveling to Europe this April, Kingsday Festival is the place to be. It takes place on April 26 at the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
