VFD Media September Playlist: What We Are Listening to this Month
Summer is ending, and only a few more EDM festivals are on the horizon, including TomorrowWorld in Atlanta at the end of the month, and AWOL Cabo in mid October. With this in mind, here's a special music festival version of the VFD office playlist:
Wax Motif - Dim Mak Studios Mix: With so much DJ talent coming out of Australia, one to keep an eye on is Wax Motif. His special set for Steve Aoki's Dim Mak Studios is a great way to keep the energy up in the office for an hour. Now residing in LA, look for a lot of releases from Wax Motif in the coming year.
Arctic Monkeys - Arabella (Live): The boys from Sheffield, England are one of the few current bands that take pride in the fact that they produce rock & roll music in an era where very few bands are doing so in a creative way. It doesn't take more than a minute or so to feel the passion they have for their genre when listening to this live performance of Arabella. Arabella is a track from their new album "AM" that was released yesterday. This track (which was performed pre-release) will give you a taste of the atmospheric brilliance that the UK-based rock prodigies are becoming known for producing.
Kanye West - New Slaves (DJ Snake Remix): DJ Snake has quickly emerged as one of the top producers in Europe, mainly thanks to his Grammy-nominated work and the ultimate club hit "The Bird Machine". This trap remix for Kanye West's "New Slaves" is a great example of what DJ Snake is capable of as a producer, and a pure definition of his style. Made in France.
Avicii - Promo Mix 2013: Swedish producer Avicii is about to drop his first full-lenght album later this month. Guaranteed to be at the top of all music charts, not just the EDM charts, here is a special mix Avicii released in anticipation of the album dropping. Clocking in at exactly an hour, this mix shows why Avicii is one of the top DJ's in the world, who is still poised to get bigger and better.
