Fox Sports 1 Gets First Ever Title Fight With Dillashaw Cruz

September 30, 2015

The UFC is constantly evolving and growing. Fox Sports 1 is the latest recipient of that growth when T.J. Dillashaw defends his bantamweight belt against former champ Dominick Cruz. UFC Fight Night 81 takes place on January 17 live from Boston and the top of the card is not the only big fight. Former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis takes on former Bellator champion Eddie Alvarez in the co-main event. This is a huge free card for UFC fans.

Dillashaw has won four straight fights and has already defended his title twice in convincing fashion. Cruz was the fight that everyone was waiting for. He was at the top of the division before injuries derailed him. This fight has been a long time in the making and will be an all out war. If a healthy Dominick Cruz shows up, expect fireworks.

Anthony Pettis is coming off his title loss in March against Rafael dos Anjos and has something to prove if he wants to make his way back to the top. Eddie Alvarez knows what it takes to be a champion and will be a tough fight for Pettis. This is a great co-main event on a momentous day for Fox Sports 1.
