Robbie Lawler And Rory MacDonald Put On Fight Of The Night At UFC 189

July 15, 2015

The first two rounds of the co-main event of UFC 189 for the welterweight title featuring “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler against Rory MacDonald was an absolute blood bath, with the former constantly punching the latter in the face and opening him up during the first minutes.

What we did not expect in the third round was for Rory to connect on a kick to the back of Robbie’s head, staggering him and making him lose his legs for enough time for the tides to turn. It was now Rory’s turn to go to work on Lawler, punching and kneeing him over and over again.

Heading into the 5th round, we had two completely beaten up warriors licking the blood off their gloves and ready for more. Unfortunately for MacDonald, his already injured nose and face could not withstand the impact of a punch that finished the job. With a shattered nose, Rory closed up and fell back, knowing that he could not go on.

Robbie raised his bloody hands in victory, the winner of truly an epic fight.
