Ronda Rousey vs Holly Holm Bumped Up To UFC 193, Condit Lawler Postponed
Any time Ronda Rousey’s name is in the news these days, you can’t help but look. She is the it athlete. In the latest Rousey news, her title defense against Holly Holm at UFC 195 that was scheduled for January 2 in Las Vegas has been bumped up to UFC 193 in Australia on November 14 to take the place of the Robbie Lawler, Carlos Condit fight due to a Lawler thumb injury.
There’s no doubt that bringing Rousey to Australia for their first big stadium show, according to Dana White, will break all records. The truth is that bringing in a fighter the caliber of Rousey in a newer market is a huge play to capture them in one fell swoop. If the reaction is anything close to Brazil, then the UFC is already on its way.
Holly Holm is front and center, leapfrogging over Miesha Tate’s third title shot for a shot of her own. They say Rhonda’s boxing is her weakness and that’s what Holm does best. We’ll see if this ends up being another Rousey overhyped bludgeoning or actually something competitive.
