The New Big Four Enter Wimbledon Quarters

July 8, 2015

When it comes to professional tennis and sports in general, Wimbledon is one of those events that people have a special interest in. It’s almost like the Masters of the PGA Tour. There’s a certain historic feeling associated with it.

Roger Federer, the king of Wimbledon, is in the quarterfinals again along with superstar and number one ranked player in the world Novak Djokovic, the hometown hero Andy Murray, and a new face replacing the familiar Spanish one we’re used to.

Swiss star Stan Wawarinka is not your household name, but in the tennis world, “Stan the Man” or the “Stanimal” is nothing new. He’s fresh off a French Open win over Novak Djokovic, and is one match away from possibly rekindling the newest and most intriguing rivalry in tennis.

A match between Andy Murray and Roger Federer would be interesting simply for the fact that England loves Andy and Roger. Both are All England Club royalty, but only one is a local hero. How will the crowd react? Only time will tell. The draw has really fallen into place for this event and we are very close to two amazing semifinal matchups including the “new” big four.
