Three Title Fights Announced By UFC

August 19, 2015

In the wake of the Conor McGregor/Jose Aldo superfight announcement that will take place on December 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, the UFC has just announced two more title fights. Fabricio Werdum will defend his heavyweight title against Cain Velasquez in a rematch. The date for this fight is still up in the air. Rafael dos Anjos will take on Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone at UFC on Fox 17 on December 19 in Orlando.

Velasquez had some cardio issues in his 3rd round submission loss to Werdum due to the altitude in Mexico City, and looked a bit rusty. Look for this rust to be gone when they fight each other again. Cain’s cardio is usually his strength, so to see him lose with that as an issue was a shock. This is going to be a totally different fight that will hopefully be more competitive.

Cerrone has been a fighting and winning machine and he’s finally getting a featherweight title shot. Dos Anjos has already beaten him, but this is a different Cowboy. Will we get a new result? Only time will tell. Get ready for a hot December in the UFC.
