UFC Fight Night 70 Preview
UFC Fight Night 70 takes place this Saturday, and perennial contender Lyoto Machida is back in the Octagon on short rest and fresh off of a rough defeat in April against Luke Rockhold. His opponent in Hollywood, FL is Olympic medalist wrestler and #6 ranked middleweight Yoel Romero.
Romero is very aggressive and on paper this seems to play into Machida’s strong suit, who is known to wait and pounce. However, Machida just took a bad loss and is on short rest, so as we’re used to in the UFC, we’ll just have to wait and see.
In the co-main event, Santiago Ponzinibbio takes on former Strikeforce star Lorenz Larkin in a welterweight battle. We’ll see if either of these fighters are ready for the big time.
Antonio Carlos Junior fights Eddie Gordon in this lower level middleweight clash. Both fighters are coming off loses and have something to prove.
Thiago Santos squares off against Steve Bosse in what should be a middleweight slugfest. Look out for a big knockout in this one.
You can catch the preliminary fights on Fox Sports 2 at 8pm ET and the main card on Fox Sports 1 at 10pm ET.
