UFC Fight Night 70 Recap

June 29, 2015

UFC Fight Night 70 took place this Saturday and it was a hotter card than expected, with Yoel Romero taking care of Lyoto Machida via a third round KO and a Knockout of the Year candidate in Thiago Santos for his perfect head kick KO of Steve Bosse.

The big question coming into the fight was which Lyoto Machida would show up: the former champion and Octagon defensive master or an aging fighter that is moving towards the end of his career. Even though he was on just two months rest, Yoel Romero made sure that there were no questions after this fight, taking Machida to the ground in the third round and shutting him down. He may be 38, but he is one of the best wrestlers ever to grace the UFC and has an opportunity to take a shot at the top.

Lorenz Larkin defeated Santiago Ponzinibbio with a TKO in round 2. Lorenz Larkin looked like a man on a mission and may be able to make a little run in the welterweight division.

Antonio Carlos Junior submit Eddie Gordon with a rear naked choke in the third round.

Thiago Santos rocked the UFC when he knocked out Steve Bosse with a kick to the head that would get even a casual fan off of his/her seat. It was an amazing knockout as expected and the newest entrant for Knockout of the Year.
