UFC Fight Night 77 Recap: Vitor Still Has It

November 13, 2015

Vitor Belfort is often vilified because of the testosterone treatment he received and the subsequent high numbers during competition. That is a no no in the UFC and he was punished accordingly. Regardless of that situation, he showed up in the Octagon for the main event of UFC Fight Night 77 in Sao Paulo, Brazil and dismantled Dan Henderson with one blow.

After the first few minutes of jockeying around, Vitor finally unleashed a kick that knocked Henderson over, the beginning of the end. Belfort pounced and the rest is history. In defeat Henderson was his normal classy self, but there is no doubt that Vitor Belfort is back and gunning for the top of the middleweight division.

In the co-main event, heavy-handed Glover Teixera had no problems with Patrick Cummins. He finished Cummins in the second round, after throwing hard hand after hard hand, rendering Cummins defenseless.

Rest of the main card:

Thomas Almeida def. Anthony Birchak via first-round KO (4:24)
Alex Oliveira def. Piotr Hallmann via third-round KO (0:51)
Rashid Magomedov def. Gilbert Burns via unanimous decision (30-27 x3)
