VFD Marketing Presents: UFC Fight Night 72 Recap

July 20, 2015

Michael Bisping and Thales Leites took center stage in Glasgow, Scotland on Saturday night for the main event of UFC Fight Night 72. Bisping, the home crowd favorite, defeated Leites in a 5 round hard fought decision. Bisping is still vying for that elusive title shot, now with the most wins in UFC history without one.

In the co-main event, Even Dunham defeated Ross Pearson via unanimous decision, but Pearson showed heart in defeat. Dunham almost had Pearson finished in the first round with a very deep armbar. Pearson’s arm looked like it was about to break, but he rolled out of that submission attempt and made it to his feet, a real Octagon warrior moment.

Best of the rest:

Joseph Duffy defeated Ivan Jorge with a triangle choke in the first round. The Irishman looked tough in victory.
Joanne Calderwood took out Cortney Casey-Sanchez in a unanimous decision.

VFD, a Miami basedsports marketing agency gives brands the opportunity to capitalize on the growing popularity of MMA and the UFC. The UFC had a very heavy schedule this past week spanning the US and Europe. They showed their strength as a truly international brand with the show in Scotland and the huge win for Ireland and Conor MacGregor. The Scottish love their MMA, and Bisping’s win on Saturday gave them the show they deserved.
