VFD Marketing Presents: UFC on Fox 16 Preview
The UFC fight train rolls into Chicago this Saturday for UFC on Fox 16, Dillashaw versus Barao 2. T.J. Dillashaw and Renan Barao are finally ready for the rematch of their first fight 14 months ago, where Dillashaw stepped into the title fight on short notice and shocked the world by finishing Barao in the 5th and claiming the bantamweight title. However, between Barao being hospitalized when trying to make weight and then Dillashaw getting injured, we are here 14 months later with a hot fight and a lot of unanswered questions.
The best news of all is this show is free on Fox. By giving away a title fight for free, the casual fan gets an opportunity to see some of UFC’s warriors. The question with this fight is which Renan Barao will show up? We know what Dillashaw has in his arsenal, but with Barao, age as well as wear and tear might be an issue. Look for an amazing fight that may define either fighter’s career.
In the co-main event, Miesha Tate takes on Jessica Eye in a women’s bantamweight battle for the number one contender spot next in line for that coveted title shot. Will Miesha pull out another one and knock on Ronda Rousey’s door for the third time? We have a feeling “Evil” Eye will have something to say about that and expect an all out war.
Edson Barboza and Paul Felder will square of in a lightweight fight that has all the makings of a fireworks show. Barboza is a kicking machine, having stopped fights with leg kicks alone. Felder is 10-0 and one of the bright young stars in the UFC. This fight is going to catapult either fighter into the top of the lightweight division so pay attention.
Everyone loves a Joe Lauzon fight and he takes on MMA legend Takanori Gomi in a make or break fight for both fighters. The loser of this one might slip into irrelevance, so expect another gritty battle on a great main card.
