April 28, 2012

As the month of April comes to a close, UFC action is poised to pick up in the month of May, which means big things for VFD Sports athletes.

First, lightweight contender Nate Diaz kicks things off in a battle against Jim Miller in UFC on FOX 3, taking place on May 5 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.  Diaz is confident that a win against Miller will lead to a title shot against the winner of the upcoming Benson Henderson-Frankie Edgar rematch.

On May 15, Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone steps into the Octagon to battle Jeremy Stephens at UFC on FUEL TV 3, in Fairfax, Virginia.  Cerrone is looking forward to climbing back up the lightweight rankings and is aiming to make 2012 a big year for him.

A few weeks later, two VFD Sports athletes will show the public what they can do as both Edson Barboza and Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva take part of UFC 146 in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 26.  Barboza looks to capitalize on his impressive victory over Terry Etim by taking on Evan Dunham, while Bigfoot makes his UFC debut by battling former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez.

Outside of the cage, VFD Sports fighters Travis Browne and Bart Palaszewski will look to gain national acclaim as they film a television commercial for VFD Sports exclusive sponsor SafeAuto Insurance, in a spot that will feature former Saturday Night Live member and comedian Norm Macdonald.

Stay tuned to for continuing coverage of all of these big events, as we will take you behind the scenes with exclusive content.
