Browne vs. Gonzaga Set For The Ultimate Fighter Finale

February 12, 2013

Shortly after headlining the stacked UFC on FX fight card in Minneapolis, Minnesota, VFD Marketing heavy-hitter Travis “Hapa” Browne will make his Octagon return against the former UFC Heavyweight title challenger Gabriel Gonzaga.

The fight will be featured on the main card of The Ultimate Fighter 17 finale, which will conclude the ongoing tournament between Team Jones and Team Sonnen. TUF 17 will take place on April 13, 2013 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, headlined by the UFC Flyweight title fight between Demetrious Johnson and John Moraga. The event will be aired LIVE on FX.

Fighting out of the famous Jackson’s-Winkeljohn’s MMA Academy in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Travis Browne comes to this fight with an impressive MMA record of 13-1-1, with sights on getting back in the mix for a shot at the title. Browne went undefeated for five fights inside the Octagon, and would certainly come one step closer to his goal of becoming a champion by defeating Gonzaga.

As for Napao, the Brazilian veteran is a well-respected veteran in the UFC Heavyweight division, with a record of 9 victories and 5 losses inside the Octagon. Gonzaga is coming off a convincing performance against Ben Rothwell back in January, and just like Travis Browne, will be looking to move up the Heavyweight ladder.

So there you have it, ladies and gentlemen. Grab your popcorn, and expect fireworks when those two Heavyweight monsters enter the cage.
