January 15, 2013

Next Saturday at UFC on FOX 6 in Chicago, two VFD Sports athletes will have the opportunity to make big statements to begin 2013.  Clay Guida returns to his hometown for the first time in years and Donald Cerrone will square off against an opponent he has long awaited for in Anthony Pettis.

In late September 2012, VFD Sports broke the news that The Carpenter would be making the move from the Lightweight division to Featherweight to take on both a new direction and challenge in his career.

When asked about returning to the Windy City and fighting in front of friends and family for the first time as a Featherweight, Guida could not be more excited.  “It has been a long time since I’ve been back home to fight,” Guida said.  “I can’t wait to get out there and show my family, my friends and the world the new and improved Guida 2.0.”

Cerrone and Pettis have been using words to jab at each other dating back to their WEC days, but in less than two weeks they will have the chance to use their fists in Chi-Town.

“I don’t hate Pettis at all,” Cowboy noted “but, i’m ready to get in that cage with him and find out who the better man is.”

The Madhouse on Madison will certainly be rocking on January 26 as Guida and Cerrone both look to have their hand raised.
