Ultimate Fighter 5 winner and VFD Sports athlete Nate Diaz is one of the most recognizable figures in the world of Mixed Martial Arts, with 16 UFC appearances under his belt. This weekend (December 8th), the man from Stockton, California, will have the biggest fight of his Mixed Martial Arts career, facing Benson Henderson for the UFC Lightweight title.

The fight will headline UFC on FOX 5 fight card at KeyArena in Seattle, Washington. UFC on FOX 5 is widely-regarded as the biggest fight card ever presented on live television.

So what’s in this for Diaz? Many fans consider him and his brother Nick as cerebral fighters that would leave everything inside the Octagon. The image of Nate Diaz is that he’s not in this sport for the glory of being a champion, but to kick ass. 10 Fight Night awards (5 Fight of the Night, 5 Submission of the Night) speak for themselves.

However, time comes when every fighter wants some gold around his waist, and after so many battles inside the cage, it’s time for Nate Diaz to become a champion.

A Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Nate Diaz is also well-known for his top-tier striking skills, and will have a significant Octagon experience advantage at his disposal. Make no mistake about it, Ben Henderson is a great competitor, and extremely tough to beat. Yet, it seems as stars have aligned for Nate Diaz to finally reach his ultimate goal as a fighter.

The VFD Sports Marketing team will be rooting for Nate Diaz on December 8th! Make sure to follow Diaz on Twitter at @NateDiaz209, and show your support by using #TeamVFD on fight night.
