After four outstanding events in April, it’s time to turn the page to the month of May. Unlike in April, the UFC have only two events scheduled this month – UFC on FX: Belfort vs. Rockhold in Brazil, and UFC 160: Velasquez vs. Silva II. Both of those cards are of supreme magnitude, which will once again attract millions of MMA fans around the world to watch the Ultimate Fighting Championship product.

So what to expect this month inside the Octagon? Here’s a brief preview –

UFC on FX 8: Belfort vs. Rockhold
May 18 at Arena Jaraguá in Jaraguá do Sul, Brazil

There’s no doubt about Brazil being one of the most important destinations on the Ultimate Fighting Championship agenda. The UFC is huge in Brazil, with only soccer being ahead by ratings and overall popularity.

Fresh off his victory over Michael Bisping, Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort will be looking to deliver more of the same against the former Strikeforce Middleweight champ Luke Rockhold. With victory over Rockhold (who makes his UFC debut), Belfort will once again find himself in pole position for a shot at the title. Interestingly enough, same goes for Rockhold. There’s a lot of hype behind this fight, and with Belfort’s popularity in Brazil – fans are definitely going to enjoy this one.

Rest of the card offers the long-anticipated Octagon debut of multi-time BJJ champion Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, who will fight the TUF alumni Chris Camozzi, as well as the potential Fight of the Night between Rafael dos Anjos and Evan Dunham.

UFC 160: Cain Velasquez vs. Antonio Silva II
May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada

Knockouts, Knockouts, Knockouts… and once again KNOCKOUTS! This is really one of the most stacked UFC fight cards in recent memory.

In the main event of the night, Antonio Silva and Cain Velasquez meet again, this time for the title. Last time it was Velasquez who got the ‘W’, and then continued to dethrone Junior dos Santos, as Silva responded with two high-profile KO victories that got him this title shot. This is really a power vs. technique match-up. Expect fireworks.

That’s far from being the end, as fan-favorite Samoan heavy-hitter Mark Hunt finally gets his shot against a Top 5 Heavyweight, facing the former champion Junior dos Santos. Will Mark Hunt do the impossible? Fans can’t wait to find out.

Mark Hunt is not the only fighter representing Oceania on the main card. Super tough James Te Huna will face the KO artist Glover Teixeira. Te Huna impressed against Ryan Jimmo, while Teixeira is considered by many as one of the top contenders for a shot at the title.

VFD Marketing athlete Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone is also fighting on the main card, facing the former Strikeforce star KJ Noons. Cowboy will be looking to get back on winning ways, with sights on another impressive run in the UFC Lightweight division.

Enjoy the fights!
