Donald Cerrone vs. KJ Noons Announced for UFC 160 in Las Vegas

February 21, 2013

Donald Cerrone will get that belt. No matter what.

Cowboy came short against Anthony Pettis at UFC on FOX 6, but the former WEC Lightweight title challenger is already back in the training room, now getting in shape for his next opponent – KJ Noons.

Cerrone will welcome the former Strikeforce fighter and EliteXC title holder to the UFC at the upcoming UFC 160 event in Las Vegas, Nevada. Once again, Cerrone finds himself on a super-stacked fight card, with Antonio Silva fighting Cain Velasquez for the UFC Heavyweight title, and Alistair Overeem going toe-to-toe with Junior dos Santos, all as part of the same event.

UFC 160 will be the promotion’s annual Memorial Day weekend show, scheduled to take place on May 25th.

Representing Jackson’s-Winkeljohn’s MMA Academy in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Donald Cerrone comes to this fight with a record of 19-5, and a lot of motivation to prove a point inside the Octagon. Cerrone currently occupies the 6th spot on the official UFC Lightweight Rankings. Victory over Karl-James Noons (11-6) would put Cowboy back in the mix for a shot at the title he wants so bad.

As for Noons, 30-year old former pro boxer will be planning on making a name for himself against Cerrone. Noons always fights hard from start to finish, and is a tough nut to crack in stand up. However, for a well-rounded fighter like Donald Cerrone, this shouldn’t be a problem.

Cerrone has 3 Fight of the Night, 2 Knockout of the Night, and 1 Submission of the Night awards so far in the UFC. So when one of the most entertaining fighters in the UFC enters the cage - grab your popcorn and expert fireworks, ladies and gentlemen.
