Mighty Mouse Is Best In Show At UFC 186

April 27, 2015

Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson showed us again on Saturday night at UFC 186 live from the Bell Centre in Montreal why he might be the best pound for pound fighter in the world. If you heard Joe Rogan repeat how he deserves that ranking over and over again, it’s hard not to have it right in your face.

Mighty Mouse, in the face of boos, dominated and submit Japan’s Kyoji Horiguchi using an armbar with one second left in the fight, the latest submission in the history of the UFC. Johnson is not flashy and he doesn’t finish many fighters. Technically, he’s a machine and at the top of the UFC shelf. There are not many better, if any.

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson completed his circus return to the UFC on a weeks notice to defeat Fabio Maldonado in a unanimous decision. Rampage, although at the 215-pound catchweight with the lack of notice, looked mobile and time will tell if the old Rampage has some new tricks up his sleeve.

Michael Bisping defeated CB Dollaway in a unanimous decision and in the throwback fight of the night, Patrick Cote topped Joe Riggs with a unanimous decision victory as the preliminary card closer.

The UFC season rolls on with Jon Jones against Anthony Johnson in the not so distant future. UFC 187 is on May 23rd and features a stacked card that we’ll assess soon.
