Welcome back to the second installment of the VFD Sports Weekly Chirp for the week of 10/1.

Last week was a huge week for VFD Sports athletes, but if you follow VFD on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram you already knew that.

VFD Sports athletes that did not participate this weekend in Minneapolis still had plenty going on as Clay ‘The Carpenter’ Guida and Erik ‘Goyito’ Perez spent the weekend in Chicago eating hot dogs and watched the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame dominate the Miami Hurricanes at Soldier Field.

Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone announced via his twitter account that he is travelling to Los Angeles to film a small part in the FX drama Justified.

Edson ‘Junior’ Barboza reminds us all from his website that he holds the first wheel kick knockout in UFC history, a kick that was listed by the UFC as the second best knockout with kicks to the head.  Watch the video to re-live Edson’s knockout and other great kicks.

On to the main event...

Before Friday’s main event Travis ‘Hapa’ Browne visited the Minnesota Vikings practice facility.  Check out what went down in this VFD Sports exclusive article.

VFD Sports exclusive sponsor SafeAuto Insurance sent the lucky winner of their VIP at the UFC contest to Minneapolis to watch the UFC on FX 5 fight up close and personal.  Here is a photo of the pair outside of the Target Center.

Bart ‘Bartimus’ Palaszewski earned fight of the night honors with his 3-round battle with Diego Nunes.

Looking forward, Diego ‘Boom’ Brandao continues to prepare for his fight with Joey Gambino this Saturday in Rio de Janeiro at UFC 153.

Make sure to follow all of VFD Sports social media outlets for the most up to date information on your favorite athletes.
