Top 3 UFC Cards Remaining In 2014

Time goes fast. We have only two months left before the end of the year. Yet, those two months are expected to deliver some of the finest UFC action this year, with VFD athletes Travis Browne, Derek Brunson and Erik Perez all scheduled to fight in the coming months. Our sports marketing section will be busier than ever.

 

There are 9 cards left on the UFC calendar. All are great line-ups, but there are still some that stand out with their star power. Hereby are 3 cards that you definitely shouldn’t miss before the end of 2014:

 

UFC 180: Velasquez vs. Werdum
When: November 15, 2014
Where: Arena Ciudad de México in Mexico City, Mexico

 

Yes, that’s right. The long-awaited debut of Ultimate Fighting Championship in Mexico is just one month away. Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum will fight for the UFC Heavyweight title in what promises to be a fight for the ages. The card is stacked top-to-bottom with fighters of Mexican heritage, with Ricardo Lamas, Edgar Garcia, Diego Sanchez, and of course Erik Perez all scheduled to step inside the Octagon. It’s an important event for the UFC and a long time coming for the fans in Mexico.

 

UFC 181: Hendricks vs. Lawler II
When: December 6, 2014
Where: Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada

 

Okay, so the main event is Johnny Hendricks vs. Robbie Lawler II for the Welterweight title. The co-main event is Anthony Pettis vs. Gilbert Melendez for the lightweight title, while Travis Browne vs. Brendan Schaub is also on the card. It’s a stacked line-up with many high-profile fights that will landscape the UFC rankings in 2015. UFC 181 is a huge event that definitely shouldn’t be missed. Just wait for Hapa Browne to get back on track with an impressive victory over Brendan Schaub.

 

UFC on Fox: dos Santos vs. Miocic
When: December 13, 2014
Where: US Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona

 

One month after traveling to Mexico City for the first time, UFC is also expected to make its debut in Phoenix, Arizona. Home of the Phoenix Suns, US Airways Center will host the action, featuring a top tier heavyweight fight between Junior dos Santos and Stipe Miocic. Rafael dos Anjos vs. Nate Diaz is also on the card, as well as the all-Dutch fight between Alistair Overeem and Stefan Struve. VFD athlete Derek Brunson is fighting the veteran Ed Herman, with sights on getting another ‘W’ in the middleweight division.
