Making a huge statement on the worlds biggest stage, VFD Sports fighter Travis "Hapa" Browne earned a dominating victory over Chad Griggs via first round submission during UFC 145.

Hapa started things off early with a flying double knee that landed on Griggs' chin, then proceeded to take Griggs to the ground.  At that point, it was only a matter of time until Browne successfully got Griggs to tap out, ending the fight in the middle of the first round.  As Browne celebrated in the middle of the Octagon, Griggs could be seen laying flat on his back, trying to get some air back into his lungs.

To say the victory was impressive is an understatement.  Browne came into the event in the best shape of his career with the intent of sending a message to the rest of the UFC heavyweights, and that message was clearly delivered.  Thanks to his expert submission tactics and use of the gameplan from his coaches at Jackson-Winkeljohn MMA, Browne was awarded post-fight with a $65,000 submission of the night bonus award by UFC president Dana White.
