Travis Browne Victorious at TUF 17 Finale

April 14, 2013

VFD Marketing fighter, Travis "Hapa" Browne, recorded his fifth victory inside the Octagon, this time knocking out the former UFC Heavyweight title challenger Gabriel Gonzaga.

Browne was by far the superior fighter inside the Octagon, as the finish due to elbow strikes saw Gonzaga getting KO'd for the first time in more than three years. This was Browne's fourth finish in his current stint with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Here's what he had to say after securing the 'W':

"We don't get paid by the minute out there," Browne said. "The goal was to get in and out so I can keep my face intact. I wanted to show that my left leg is 100 percent, so I made sure to throw it first. I was determined to show that I'm not just a striker, and I think I was able to do that. Gabriel's a tough guy to get away from, so I'm happy with my takedown defense. Whenever you're in that spot, you have to be careful of elbows and strikes, so I capitalized on that. I'm glad to be back on track and have some momentum behind me again."

More than anything, Hapa will be taking home a well-deserved $50,000 Knockout of the Night award.

VFD Marketing would like to congratulate Travis Browne for his triumph against Gabriel Gonzaga. We would also like to thank all the VFD Sports Marketing clients supporting Travis Browne inside and outside the UFC Octagon.

Onwards to the title!
