Travis Browne vs Fabricio Werdum Set For April 19

January 14, 2014

VFD Sports Marketing heavy-hitter Travis “Hapa” Browne will step inside the Octagon once again, this time facing Fabricio Werdum in Orlando, Florida, on April 19 (UFC on FOX 11). While the full fight card is still taking shape, the long-anticipated heavyweight blockbuster between Travis Browne and Fabricio Werdum could easily serve as the main event of the night.

Ultimate Fighting Championship president Dana White has mentioned on numerous occasions that the winner of Browne vs. Werdum match-up will get the #1 Contender status for a shot at the UFC Heavyweight title, currently held by Cain Velasquez.

Travis Browne has proved his worth again and again inside the Octagon. Victories over Gabriel Gonzaga, Alistair Overeem, and just a few weeks ago over Josh Barnett have solidified Hapa’s status as one of the top fighters in his weight class. Victory over Fabricio Werdum, who’s widely considered as one of the most dangerous men in the heavyweight division, will once and for all give Travis Browne the chance to go face-to-face with the champion.

Tickets for the event are expected to go on sale February 14. UFC on FOX 11 takes place at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.
