UFC 186 Set For This Saturday
The biggest news as of right now is that MMA veteran and legend Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is fighting in the co-main event against Brazilian Fabio Maldonado. As the story goes, Rampage was removed from the card because of an injunction from Bellator not allowing him to fight in another promotion. However, a judge overturned that ruling and Quinton is back in the spotlight where he belongs in the co-main event of UFC 186, live from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec this Saturday.
The main event features one of the top pound-for-pound MMA fighters in the world, Demetrious Johnson, as he faces Japanese fighter Kyoji Horiguchi for Johnson’s flyweight title. Don’t expect any upsets here. Johnson is the man and is expected to still be the man after this fight.
The best of the rest:
Michael Bisping will fight CB Dollaway in a middleweight clash. Bisping is looking to prove that he still belongs near the top of the middleweight division, and if he wants that spot, he needs to take care of CB Dollaway along the way.
John Makdessi takes on Shane Campbell at a catchweight (160 pounds). This fight is a bit of a wild card and we might be in for a show.
Yves Jabouin against Thomas Almeida puts Almeida, an undefeated prospect, on the big show. He has the tools to take the bantamweight division by storm.
You can check out the preliminary fights featuring Sarah Kaufman versus Alexis Davis and Patrick Cote against Joe Riggs in a throwback main event on Fox Sports 1 starting at 8pm ET. The main card is on PPV starting at 10pm ET.
As the events rolls on, VFD Marketing gives brands the opportunity to capitalize on the popularity and momentum of MMA and the UFC. Check out the fight this Saturday. It might seem like a little less of a card on paper, but it has the potential to pack a big punch.
