UFC Fight Night 66 Fight Wrap, Edgar Looks Strong
The UFC hit the Philippines for the first time Saturday morning and the results are in for UFC Fight Night 66. Top featherweight Frankie Edgar defeated Urijah Faber, a UFC legend in his own right with a unanimous decision. Even though Faber did not win a round on the scorecard, he put up an effort and never stopped trying to solve the Frankie Edgar puzzle. But Frankie proved to be too tough and is now on a 3-fight win streak. He’s not far from title contention and his words after the fight towards Dana White made it clear that a title fight is all that’s on Frankie Edgar’s mind.
In the co-main event Gegard Mousasi defeated Costas Philippou with a unanimous decision as well. Mousasi proved to be too much for Philippou and is on a 2-fight win streak.
In an emotional final victory in front of his hometown Filipino crowd, Mark Munoz defeated Luke Barnatt by unanimous decision. He was on a 3-fight losing streak and made it clear that this was his final fight before retirement. He showed heart and grit in front of his home crowd and put on a great show to hang up the gloves to.
Neil Magny beat Hyun Gyu Lim by TKO in the second round. Magny started out slowly, but turned the ship around and won his seventh straight UFC fight. He hasn’t lost since September 2013.
