June 19, 2015

There are some huge fights looming on the horizon and there’s always a lot of news going on in the UFC. Below is some of the current highlights:

UFC unveils new PED testing program. The UFC has been under fire for what some saw as a bare bones PED testing program. Not anymore. They came out with their new beefed up testing program, demonstrating their desire to be a top athletic organization in the world. Starting in July, fighters will get a 2 year ban for failing a test and it only increases from there.

Luke Rockhold gets middleweight title shot against Chris Weidman. Bad news if you’re Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza. Luke Rockhold has leaped over him in the rankings and got the coveted title shot that he and others thought Jacare deserved. What’s up next for Jacare? Only time will tell.

Alexander Gustafsson gets shot at Daniel Cormier. Daniel Cormier will have to wait for Jon Jones, obviously. Dana White announced Alexander Gustafsson will be Cormier’s first title defense.

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson still trying to get rid of Bellator injunction. The injunction that almost stopped Rampage from recently fighting is still looming over his head. We’ll see what the courts have to say moving forward.
